Campground

Our peaceful campsite offers visitors the opportunity to stay overnight, and enjoy the nature reserve as the nocturnal creatures wake up. In this corner of New Zealand we have some of the clearest night skies in the world, completely unaffected by light pollution.

Lay down on the grass, stare up to the sky and listen to the moreporks calling to each other, what better way could there be to relax and get back to nature?

Campground Fees:

$10 per adult per night, kids under 16 free.

In keeping with our environmentally sustainable ethos, we are an eco friendly, low impact campsite. We have toilets available, but we do not yet provide showers – we hope to have showers available soon. There is drinking water available in the information centre and stream water at the sink bench in the camp ground.

We do not take bookings for the campsite; we work on a first come, first served basis, but we have never had to turn anyone away!

Dogs are permitted in the campground as long as they are kept under control at all times and all dog waste is removed. They are not permitted in the nature reserve.
